One interesting aspect of my life is that I’ve had the opportunity to call seven different states and 16 different cities my home. My journey has taken me from the scenic beauty of Washington State to the charming corners of Connecticut, the sunny shores of Florida, and now, the vast landscapes of Texas. Even during my brief stint as a flight attendant, I had the chance to witness the diverse geography that our country has to offer. Each place I’ve lived has its unique charm, and while Texas may not boast the same majestic mountains, enchanting forests or glistening oceans as some other states, it has its own brand of spectacular beauty, waiting for those willing to pause in their busy lives to appreciate it.

For this particular photo session, I ventured to Erwin Park near McKinney, a spot that’s no hidden secret among photographers. As we set up for the shoot, I noticed a bustling community of about 10 to 15 other photographers, each seeking to capture the park’s allure. Luckily, Erwin Park is expansive enough for us to carve out our own space without encroaching on one another.

During our time there, we explored a variety of terrain, from winding bike trails to meandering wooded paths and the picturesque tall grasses that stretch beneath the vast Texas sky. It was an adventure filled with hiking and discovery as we navigated just a fraction of this sprawling park.

My connection with this family spans nearly six years, and it’s incredible to witness the rapid growth and transformation of their children. As a photographer, I’m tasked with capturing and freezing not just their age but also their unique personalities. Looking back at their images, I often find myself rubbing my eyes in disbelief at how they’ve blossomed and evolved over time.
