Two Families, One Sunset

This week I had the joy of photographing two families—together! We met at beautiful Lake Grapevine where the whole experience felt more like a little party than a photoshoot. While I worked through a checklist of must-have images, the kids played, explored, and kept each other entertained. Everyone seemed relaxed and it made every smile feel genuine.

Lake Grapevine is known for its stunning sunsets, and it didn’t disappoint. We began in the woods while the sun was still harsh and bright, then moved to the shoreline as the golden light softened over the water. The sun’s reflection on the lake looked like two fiery suns glowing across the horizon—challenging to capture, but magical to photograph.

Shooting two families at once turned out to be a lot of fun. More laughter, more natural moments, and a shared memory that these families will treasure together.
