A Lenten Walk Through the Prayer Garden

Capturing faith, family, and the beauty of preparation for Easter

On a beautiful spring weekend in May, I had the opportunity to photograph a lovely family in one of the most meaningful locations, a hidden prayer garden tucked away with winding trails, tall trees, small wooden bridges, and sacred spaces throughout. There were three Easter crosses, quiet prayer kneelers, and even a representation of the empty tomb, all thoughtfully placed along the paths.

It felt especially fitting during the Lenten season, as we prepare our hearts for Easter. The setting naturally invited reflection, peace, and a sense of reverence that carried into every image.

The children were full of excitement—they knew the trails like the back of their hands and couldn’t wait to lead me through their favorite spots. There was something so special about seeing the garden through their eyes, moving from one meaningful place to another with joy and familiarity.

This session was a beautiful blend of faith, family, and the quiet beauty of spring—a reminder of renewal, hope, and the deeper meaning behind the season.
