Engagement Photos at Ball Knob Hill

This week I photographed a beautiful engagement session at Ball Knob Hill in Wise County, Texas — though interestingly, the marker at the top actually says “Bald Knob.” The hill is one of the highest points in Wise County and is connected to the LBJ Grasslands area, offering sweeping views of the countryside below.

Getting there almost feels like discovering a hidden spot. The entrance is easy to miss, and after a short hike uphill, the trail opens to a breathtaking view at the top. Wildflowers dotted the hillside, rabbits hopped through the grass around us, and the evening light made everything glow.

What made this session especially meaningful was that this was not just a pretty location to them — it was their location. Just one week earlier, this was the very spot where he proposed. Returning to the hilltop together for their engagement photos made the entire evening feel personal and full of emotion.

The evening left me hoping I’ll make my way back to Ball Knob Hill for more sessions in the future. Between the sweeping views, hidden trails, wildflowers scattered across the hillside, and rabbits darting through the grass, it felt like one of those places that is both peaceful and unforgettable.
