A Warm Summer Evening Wedding at the NRS

There are some weddings that simply feel special from the moment you arrive. This weekend, I had the privilege of photographing one of those unforgettable celebrations at the beautiful NRS Event Center in Decatur, Texas.

The ceremony took place beneath the shade of mature trees on the NRS grounds, creating the perfect backdrop for a warm summer evening. It felt like stepping into the pages of a storybook. Guests arrived wearing cowboy boots and hats, adding an authentic western charm that perfectly reflected the couple and the life they have built together.

What stood out most, however, wasn’t the beautiful setting…it was the people.

The bride and groom were surrounded by joyful family and friends whose love and support were felt throughout the evening. There was laughter, heartfelt embraces, and happy tears shared by everyone present. It was clear this couple is deeply loved, and that made every moment even more meaningful to capture.

Although the ceremony wasn’t held during the traditional golden hour, the evening light filtering through the trees created a beautiful palette of warm greens and golden tones. Nature seemed to provide exactly the right backdrop, proving once again that beautiful light isn’t limited to one hour of the day.

One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is watching all of the little moments unfold: the quiet smiles between the bride and groom, the proud looks from parents, the laughter shared between friends, and the overwhelming joy that fills the celebration.

Congratulations to this wonderful couple as they begin their new journey together. It was truly an honor to document such a beautiful day, and I pray the Lord blesses your marriage with many years of love, faith, and adventure.
